Opportunities in Moray
Milne’s Sports Club
Active Schools has been developing disability sport in Moray for the last 3 years. This has resulted in a sports club that runs in Fochabers at Milne’s High School on Monday evenings. During the sessions the participants are introduced to a wide range of sports including orienteering, athletics, golf a variety of ball games, tennis and boccia (a sport similar to bowls and petanque but designed to be all inclusive). A couple of times a year the members go out on social events such as 10 pin bowling. Please see timetable below for more details.
Recently Active Schools together with Tennis Scotland and Elgin Tennis Club have set up a tennis club for children and adults with disabilities. Please see timetable below for more details.
On Thursday Evenings there are boccia sessions in Buckie. Those sessions are organised by Active Schools and Buckie High’s support for learning department. These sessions have a social element and are for adults and secondary school pupils. Please see timetable below for details.
Further we organise a Boccia festival for secondary pupils, a visual impaired sports day together with Moray Council Sensory Department and Moray College and a sports day for pupils with Additional Support Needs.
