SportMoray Affiliation 2015 / 2016 and operational changes

I am writing to you with further information in relation to the operational changes for sportMoray following their AGM held on Monday 13 April. A number of proposals were approved at the AGM and these are broken down as follows;

Removal of sportMoray Grant Scheme

Since April 2013 sportMoray have not received their annual grant of £14,000 from Moray Council due to budget savings. It was this grant that enabled sportMoray to distribute grants to local sports clubs and individuals. Since April 2013 the sportMoray account has been steadily declining and therefore we are no longer in a position to continue allocating grants to clubs.

Constitution charges

At the AGM several amendments were made and approved to the constitution to reflect the slight change in operation of sportMoray. The updated constitution is enclosed along with this letter.

New affiliation fee

Due to the fact that the grant scheme has been removed we do not anticipate any individual affiliations to sportMoray, only club affiliations. Therefore, we have set the new affiliation fee for clubs at £15 (reduced from £35). Please note this affiliation fee will enable Club representation free access to our Club Network nights (bearing in mind some of the workshops that will be on offer at these nights would normally cost £40 to attend as an individual). Clubs will also receive regular communication on coach education, events, funding and national updates. The new club affiliation form is enclosed with this letter (not included if previously an individual affiliate). We request that all affiliation forms and fees are returned by the start of August where possible.

sportMoray Committee

At the AGM we were unable to fill some of our committee positions and so therefore are on the lookout for anyone that would be interested in taking on these roles;

1. Vice Chair – attend 6 meetings per year.
2. Secretary – take minutes of meetings and circulate to committee, forward any correspondence received by SALSC (umbrella body), attend 6 meetings per year.
3. Primary School rep – attend 6 meetings per year.
4. 2 x Affiliated club reps – attend 6 meetings per year.

None of the above positions are onerous tasks, in the main it is providing input into committee meetings and helping at a club network night or Recognition Awards night.
