Course Overview

New Age Kurling / Floor Curling is an inclusive, ice-free adaptation of traditional curling, making it accessible to a wide range of participants, including those with Additional Support Needs (ASN).

This is a practical, low-impact physical session focused on hands-on learning and participation, with no theory element. Participants will:

  • Learn the fundamentals of floor curling, including game setup and delivery techniques.
  • Practice scoring and umpiring methods to support session delivery.
  • Explore seated and standing adaptations to ensure accessibility for all participants.
  • Develop confidence in coaching and delivering engaging floor curling sessions.

What to Expect

The session will be delivered indoors on a badminton court with short-haired carpet, and is designed to be low impact, making it suitable for a wide range of abilities. There is no need for previous experience or theory study—just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to get involved physically!

Participants will leave equipped with the skills and confidence to deliver fun, safe, and inclusive floor curling sessions within their schools or communities.
